For those who want the comfort of a smaller-body instrument with the projection of a dreadnought at an extremely affordable price, Breedlove presents the Oregon Concerto Myrtlewood cutaway acoustic-electric guitar. It features a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish also contributes to ideal playability. The labor-intensive finish process includes a precise finish coat application, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing. A bag is also included. Body ShapeWhen Breedlove set out to create a guitar that would surpass the classic big body sound of the dreadnought, they didn’t just want it to be loud. They sought to bring out more tonal complexity, and to offer a much more comfortable playing experience, too. The Breedlove Concerto is a new guitar shape they created to elicit more volume than a classic dreadnought, and more lush, complex tonal resonance in a comfortable body shape that feels just right. It provides loud, textured and supremely satisfying tone, especially combined with exotic myrtlewood top, back and sides. The woods in an acoustic guitar are interactive. It is the synergy of the variable organic woods that determines the sound, balance, volume, complexity and tone. The size of an instrument and how a player approaches the strings also affect the sound. So, it was critical for Breedlove to observe countless musicians play, how they position their hand around the neck and their fingers on the fretboard. Breedlove then measured the relationships between soundboard frequencies and back frequencies, targeting fundamental resonant frequencies and the various pathways to achieving them. To accomplish big, lush sound in the Breedlove Concerto, they increased the interior air space and reduced the soundhole size to increase air resistance. While sound is very important, it must be comfortable to play. The Breedlove Concerto has a more pronounced waist, making it comfortable to play while sitting and approachable while standing. Breedlove’s thinner Breedlove neck profile invites more flexibility in finger movement across the fingerboard. TonewoodMyrtlewood, umbellularia californica, formerly oreodaphne californica, originates in the western United States in Northern California and Oregon. Myrtlewood offers a strong fundamental with a powerful voice. Similar to maple, it has a clear and bright voice with superb projection and sustain, and offers a full and balanced sound. A versatile non-traditional tonewood, it is a favorite for many styles of playing. Myrtle has very unique and widely varied figure—no two sets are alike. Coloration ranges from blonde to taupe. ElectronicsThe EAS Element Active System VTC from LR Baggs delivers performance previously unattainable from an undersaddle pickup. The streamlined and efficient design removes every unnecessary internal component to improve the coupling between the transducer and the guitar. This substantially improves the sensitivity of the transducer for a robust, lively and open sound with great dynamics and a delicate high end. It features both a volume and tone wheel discretely hidden within the soundhole. Breedlove Pinless BridgeThe Breedlove Pinless Bridge helps maintain the integrity of the top by eliminating the need for six drilled string holes. The fewer holes in your soundboard, the more evenly the sound wave can move across the interior, without any loss of energy. The Breedlove Pinless Bridge also provides a gentler string-break angle from the bridge to the top o All-myrtlewood constructionGloss top finishSemi-gloss back and side finishChrome tuners with ebony buttonsComes with truss wrench and stickerGig bag included | Breedlove Oregon Concerto Myrtlewood Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar Gloss Natural
