It's back. Originally released in 2012, the original Box of War is back. The Box of War is a true recreation of the famous “Civil War” fuzz pedals from the 90’s. Great lengths have been gone to in digging deep into vintage pedals, and recreating their sound by duplicating all aspects of the original circuits. The tone is in the details as they say. Rest assured nothing has been spared in researching this rare, much-loved, but cheaply made famous fuzzer. This box is heavy duty. Not at all one of the thin aluminum type enclosures you see on many cheap pedals. When you hold this pedal, it is heavy. The idea behind this was to make an enclosure as heavy duty as the old Russians but with a smaller footprint and of course super high quality everything. Reportedly favored by David Gilmour, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), and many others this is your chance to own a vintage recreation that is made to be beat-up. Very closely related to the Tall Font BM’s, the Civil War’s have a bit darker and a bit fuzzier tone. Like the Tall Fonts, they’ve got less output and are less fuzzy than most other muffs but are cherished for their woody sustain and presence. These beasts became a secret weapon for many, but usually required two or three back-up pedals due to the poor quality components to be sure a pro-level player could make it through a tour using one on their board. The Box of War solves that problem. Sound, looks, and reliability. Make one yours. | Wren And Cuff Box of War Small Foot Fuzz Effects Pedal

Like the OG muffer from the same year, the Eye See ‘78 from Wren and Cuff utilizes ICs instead of transistors, producing a monstrous and wooly sound like the one popularized by Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins on Siamese Dream. This big box edition is an authentic replication of the V4 Big Muff circuit and features 100% through-hole components and specially selected ICs for authentic vintage tone. It also incorporates the ’79 V5 tone bypass switch, giving the player the option of removing the passive tone stack from the circuit for a raw and open sound. For fine tuning beyond the stock V4 circuit, there is an internal secret adjustment available to discerning players. The face of the pedal features old school hand silk screened graphics. Get my Guitar found the latest prices on the Wren And Cuff Gold Comp Germanium Compressor/Pre-Amp Effects Pedal.
Ahhh, compression. Probably one of the most misunderstood effects in the whole world of pedals. Many seasoned players are aware of the magic of a good compressor, but for most, its not especially high on the list of gear lust we all have. It doesn’t create a wall of fuzz, it doesn’t echo, warble, or warp. It just does it’s thing, and most of the time, in the hands of an experienced player, you don’t even know its there. It can give things a lift, or smooth a spiky tele. It can bring out the balls on a bass, and make a pick’s attack on a string defined and present in the mix. Use it in a less subtle way, and you can squash your signal, to the point of no return. Think of a clucky strat with the middle and bridge pup engaged, in the hands of a good country player or a hybrid-picker like Mark Knopfler. That cluck and pop is a compressor bringing out the articulations of the fingers, pick, strings, that would otherwise be lost in the auditory wash of a full band. Put it in front of a dirt box with the attack backed off, a nice quick release, and only a bit of compression, and you’ll feel every dig of the pick into the strings. A great rhythm player, a bit of compression, and a tight drummer, can equal a chugging rhythm with the guitar making every hi-hat hit pop just a bit more. In short, compressor pedal can be a very good thing. The Gold comp really is a truly special pedal. A year and a half of experimenting, tweaking, redesigning, and testing has resulted in a pedal worthy of the Wren and Cuff name. Two hand-tested vintage germanium transistors in the box provide a natural warmth and super smooth clipping that has to be heard to be believed. The Gold Comp can go from a barely noticeable compression sitting inside of a cozy germanium pre-amp, adding a subtle sweetness to your tone, all the way to total old-school dirty squash with the twist of a couple knobs. Pull way back on the compression, attack, and release, and you’ll have a fantastic pre-amp/ boost similar to the W&C Phat Phuk. There often seems to be a divide between “transparent” and “dirty” compressors, the thought being that you’d need one pedal for each purpose. The Gold Comp proves that you can have both within one unit. Experienced players who love to dial in things just right will appreciate the four control layout, and those new to the world of compressors need not be intimidated. The Gold comp sound is complex, but the operation is simple. Constructed to the level of quality that Wren and Cuff has built its reputation on, made in the USA, with a lifetime warranty, this is a pedal you simply can’t go wrong with. The tone is pure gold. | Wren And Cuff Gold Comp Germanium Compressor/Pre-Amp Effects Pedal

Get my Guitar found the latest prices on the Wren And Cuff Tri Pie 70 Fuzz Effects Pedal.
"The Wren and Cuff Tri Pie 70′ is their take on the famous Muff ""triangle knob"" fuzz from around 1970. What W&C did is make what they consider the best-sounding tri-knob replication you can find. Compared to the modern-day BM, the Tri Pie 70′ has less saturation, a bit less mid-scoop and more snarl, while at the same time possessing a smoothness that sweetens things in a very musical way. Its range is more useful, responds well to your guitar’s volume knob, and even gets into the overdrive zone at lower settings. Here is one thing that sets the Wren and Cuff Tri-Pie 70’ apart from many of the other Muff recreations: Rather than chasing down magical part #’s and sexy looking transistors, the designers blind-tested a plethora of different types and transistor combos to come up with the sweetest mix of high- and lower-gain transistors that will yield beautifully rich and complex saturation full of color, bloom and sustain. Contrary to popular belief, vintage “NOS” transistors aren’t that hard to find. Anyone that has a few good suppliers and is willing buy in bulk can get most silicon NOS transistors with a little homework. Problem is, the inconsistencies from muff to muff and gain variances between transistors with the same part numbers makes the search for the “right” transistors a bit pointless. When someone is chasing after a sweet-sounding year/version of a muff they’ve heard or heard-of, they may not know it, but what they’re really chasing after is one of the really good ones within that version. The ones that randomly got the transistors that had the characteristics needed to produce a pedal that had “that sound”. Truth is, there was a much greater amount of consistency from pedal to pedal than germanium transistor based Fuzz Faces for example. But silicon transistors (which all the muffs had) were still “new” at the time and not nearly as consistent as they are now. So the inconsistency factor is definitely a valid point. And I’d bet my booty that most of the big names in music at that time sorted through more than a few pedals before finding the one that they liked. | Wren And Cuff Tri Pie 70 Fuzz Effects Pedal"

Get my Guitar found the latest prices on the Wren And Cuff Two-Five 25V Drive-Boost Effects Pedal.
Why 25V for the Wren and Cuff Two Five drive-boost? Muscle! Thats why. Operating at 25V opens things up considerably, creating an unusually wide dynamic range, more headroom and more output. You’ll really feel it when you dig into the strings. The response is super reactive, and the overall feel of the pedal is much different than a typical overdrive. It just feels powerful. EQThe EQ section of the pedal is set up a bit differently than many other pedals. The controls are basically like a vintage Fender amp (although the pedal in no way sounds like a Fender). One thing this means is that the controls are interactive in relation to one another. An example would be that turning down the treble will not only cut the higher frequencies, but also raise the lower frequencies a bit. This type of interaction opens up an almost endless palette of tones by adjusting the Lows, Mids, and Highs, as opposed to a simple high pass / low pass setup. It's one of the things that makes the Two Five unique. Voice SwitchThe voice switch allows you to configure the clipping section of the pedal in two different ways:Voice switch toggled down, there are two Mosfet transistors used as diodes, and a germanium diode as well used to create a super rich, saturated gain (sorta Marshall™ like). Flick the switch up, and two LED’s are used for the clipping. These LED’s have a much wider range of dynamics and lend to a more open, somewhat cleaner sound sort of Fender-like). The Two Five gain will be more crunchy, cutting, and less saturated than the other setting. Op-AmpAfter many hours of testing, A/B’ing, and comparing, the designers finally settled upon a JRC3404. A distant relative of the famous JRC4558 some covet for their use in vintage Tube Screamer pedals, this op-amp is tough enough to put up with 25V, but still has a warm enough tone to keep things nice a sweet. OutputThere is a ton of output on tap. Be careful with this! You can peg the front end of your amp incredibly hard which is great for pushing it into a natural overdrive. If you really want to dig deep on this before you purchase, download the manual to learn even more. | Wren And Cuff Two-Five 25V Drive-Boost Effects Pedal
