The central nervous system at the heart of the Data Corrupter’s hive mind is the Master Oscillator. Foxcatcher from CopperSound is the result of a six-month trial and study. After a variety of breadboard builds and circuit explorations, the CopperSound team decided to clear the breadboard and start with a circuit that it loved, the Bluesbreaker. From there, the designers began changing and adding to the base circuit. The first of which was a slight change to the tone section and the addition of the Nature knob. From there, they added an output buffer and true bypass stylings. From the start, they wanted to have an independent boost section on the pedal. That decision was easy, the Gravity Bomb. They then added an effect order toggle switch. Lastly, CopperSound incorporated a Burr Brown audiophile op amp and made it so that Foxcatcher can receive up to 18 volts. This allows for even more clarity. VOLUME – Controls the overall output volume. TONE – Controls the overall brightness. Adjust to taste. NATURE – The “magic” knob! Use in conjunction with Tone and Drive to sculpt a glassier, tube-driven effect. DRIVE – Controls the amount of overdrive. Get gritty while adding sustain. At the heart of Polaris resides an MN3007 BBD chip, the same one found in the original NYC box. After recreating the circuit in a breadboard, CopperSound designers moved forward from there. They started by replacing the depth switch in favor of a knob. This allows for better control of the modulation depth. Following in the steps of Daedalus, they incorporated a second depth knob that is selectable via the secondary footswitch. The original circuit did not have any tone control options. They decided to implement a Tone knob on Polaris. This knob allows the user to add or cut lower bass presence to the signal. CopperSound placed a master Volume knob at the end of the circuit. The central nervous system at the heart of the Data Corrupter’s hive mind is the Master Oscillator. The Master Oscillator’s “Root” (the octave of which is selectable via a three-position rotary switch) adjusts the frequency range and tracking response of the input signal, which is then synthesized and harmonized by one of eight Master Oscillator programs, adjustable by an eight-way rotary switch. The QUEEN and DRONE set the levels for each of the harmonies that stay one octave apart. The FLIGHT and STING control the modulation applied to the harmonies. They are highly interactive controls and you will find many different sounds by just messing with these. STING sets how fast or slow the harmonies will follow your playing. Turn it CCW for it to feel like the harmonies sting you at every note you play. Turn it CW and the harmonies will sound like a drunk bee hovering up and down around the root. Foxcatcher from CopperSound is the result of a six-month trial and study. After a variety of breadboard builds and circuit explorations, the CopperSound team decided to clear the breadboard and start with a circuit that it loved, the Bluesbreaker. From there, the designers began changing and adding to the base circuit. The first of which was a slight change to the tone section and the addition of the Nature knob. From there, they added an output buffer and true bypass stylings. From the start, they wanted to have an independent boost section on the pedal. That decision was easy, the Gravity Bomb. They then added an effect order toggle switch. Lastly, CopperSound incorporated a Burr Brown audiophile op amp and made it so that Foxcatcher can receive up to 18 volts. This allows for even more clarity. VOLUME – Controls the overall output volume. TONE – Controls the overall brightness. Adjust to taste. NATURE – The “magic” knob! The CopperSound Polaris is a chorus/vibrato inspired by the original EHX Small Clone. With its smooth modulation and simple controls, it was a great starting point. At the heart of Polaris resides an MN3007 BBD chip, the same one found in the original NYC box. After recreating the circuit in a breadboard, CopperSound designers moved forward from there. They started by replacing the depth switch in favor of a knob. This allows for better control of the modulation depth. Following in the steps of Daedalus, they incorporated a second depth knob that is selectable via the secondary footswitch. The original circuit did not have any tone control options. The JHS Pedals Muffuletta distortion/fuzz effects pedal offers a host of holy grail fuzz tones in one pedal. In 1967, the legendary Mike Matthews started experimenting with circuits for the electric guitar, and by early 1969, he created a circuit that has become one of the most legendary, collected and mythical pedals in the history of guitar effects. With 30+ versions made throughout its nearly half a century lifetime, the Big Muff Distortion/Fuzz has pioneered the sounds of some of the biggest bands and musical movements in history. The Muffuletta is a tribute to the legend and story of one of the greatest pedals ever invented. The heart of the Muffuletta is the fact that it replicates five classic Big Muff circuits from years gone by, as well as a new and original JHS version, for a total of six Muff modes, all executed without any digital signal processing or digital emulation. When you choose a mode, you are achieving analog tone that uses real components and values found in the original units. JHS has selected their favorite classic versions from the pages of history and made them available in one small format pedal that is easy to understand, operate and do what it should do: replicate rare, expensive, mythical and sought-after versions of this circuit with ease. The Muffuletta features four controls: Volume, Tone, Sustain and Mode.
