The Big Muff fuzz has been around so long, been on so many classic recordings, and been through so many variations that every guitarist out there has a favorite version of its iconic tone. JHS wanted to pay tribute to that undeniably classic fuzz pedal, but JHS couldn't come to a consensus about which Muff was king. With the Muffuletta, JHS' indecision is your gain. JHS crammed five all-analog re-creations of the pedal's most beloved tones into this box. JHS even threw in a JHS-exclusive tone that is JHS' take on the historic stomp. No matter what Big Muff era you prefer, you can get 'em all in the JHS Muffuletta fuzz pedal.

The JHS Overdrive Preamp is a faithful replication of the unobtainable V1 of DOD's most loved pedal. The controls are simple. The Level control adjusts the overall output of the circuit and lets you cut or boost the signal. The level control of this version has been modified (corrected) from the original wiring of the #75 unit, giving this pedal much more volume on tap. The Gain control adjusts the amount of gain inside the overdrive circuit. Turning up "Gain" creates more clipping as it pushes the op-amp and hard clipping into overdrive. JHS also added a slider switch to this production version which wasn't included with the original DOD 250. While researching the #75 "Big Box" pedal, JHS acquired a second early big-box unit which used a completely different clipping arrangement. It only seemed fair to offer this switch so that you could explore these two variations for yourself.

In 1978, the most versatile and influential distortion pedal of all time was invented in Kalamazoo, MI. They wanted something that didn't exist in the then mainstream throes of MXR, DOD and even BOSS's product line; they wanted a pedal that could go from overdrive to distortion and then all the way to fuzz. By 1979 Scott had perfected the circuit in his RAT-infested basement workshop, and the rest is history.

The JHS Pedals Active A/B/Y is the perfect solution when you need to send one signal to two outputs with the ability to choose either output (or both) on the fly. Just plug in your instrument cable (or patch cable) into the input, then use the outputs to send signal to any combination of amplifiers, interfaces, mixing board, or anywhere else you want to send your signal. Once hooked up, use the left footswitch to select between A and B channels. When the LED is red, the A channel is engaged. When the LED is green, the B channel is engaged. Hit the right “Y” footswitch, and BOTH channels are engaged for full stereo output. Because the Active A/B/Y has an output transformer on one of the outputs, there is no need for a ground lift as the transformer eliminates any hum. The Berkeley 1973 Fresh Fuzz Replica pedal from JHS is a recreation of the classic stompbox launched in 1973 by Seamoon Inc. Despite inaccurate reviews that the Fresh Fuzz was “thin sounding,” it gained popularity and has been used extensively by artists like Tom Scholz (Boston) and guitar virtuoso Eric Johnson. Get my Guitar found the latest prices on the JHS Pedals Colour Box V2 Preamp Pedal.
"The Colour Box V2 has all the same functionality of the V1 with many new and improved additions like expanded EQ controls, a Hi/Lo switch for massive clean headroom, and the ability to pass phantom power to your condenser mics. The most significant improvements are:• Addition of an Output transformer• Safely Passes 48v Phantom Power• EQ Shift Knobs for precision EQ control• Hi/Lo Switch for ultra clean headroom• 100% available clean signal even on acoustic guitar• Silent switching, aka no ""switch-pop""• Runs on standard 9V DC Neg power• Let's take a look at the features and controls of the Colour Box V2The Gain section in red has three controls: Master, Pre-Vol and Step. The Master volume controls the overall volume of the unit. The Pre-Vol controls the amount of gain between the two internal gain stages. This acts as a ""drive"" or ""gain"" control, adding more grit, distortion and even fuzz as you increase the gain. The Step control increases the gain of each preamp stage in five stages. Rotating the Step knob from left-to-right will increase the gain by the following: 1st is +18dB, 2nd is +23dB, 3rd is +28dB, 4th is +33dB, 5th is +39dB. The Colour Box V2 has a new Hi/Lo switch to control the amount of clean headroom you have available. In the Lo mode, you will easily be able to get ultra clean sounds without breakup. Lo Mode is excellent for tone shaping when distortion is not needed. In the Hi mode, the Colour Box V2 will distort much more readily, giving you a broad spectrum of overdrive, distortion and fuzz sounds. In addition to the Hi/Lo gain switch, there is a -20dB pad switch on the right side of the Colour Box V2. This function only works when in XLR input mode and can help tame the volume for high-output microphones. The EQ section in blue has three new Shift controls correlating to its standard Treble, Middle and Bass controls. The Shift knobs adjust the range of frequencies that the Treble, Middle, and Bass knobs control. The center frequencies for the Shift knobs are Treble 10kHz, Middle 1kHz and Bass 120Hz, while the Treble, Middle and Bass knobs boost or cut with +/- 17dB of control. If you want to boost high-mid frequencies, turn the Mid Shift knob to 3 o'clock or above, and increase the Middle knob above 12 o'clock. If you want to cut upper treble frequencies, turn the Treble Shift knob to 3 o'clock or above and set the Treble knob below 12 o'clock. The Shift knobs give you precision control over the EQ for anything you put through the Colour Box V2.The Hi-Pass section is enabled by the toggle switch below the Hi-Pass knob. Just flip it up to engage the Hi-Pass knob, which spans from 60Hz to 800Hz with a 6dB per octave slope. The Colour Box V2 has a combination XLR and 1/4"" input jack to use either an instrument or microphone. Select your input with the input selector switch on the right side of the pedal labeled INST/XLR.""In 2012, I had a crazy idea for a tone-shaping device that had never been done before in the world of guitar pedals. I wanted to create an effects pedal that replicated the hard to achieve sounds of ""direct-in"" electric guitar recordings that I loved. Bands like the Beatles, Spoon, Wilco and Steely Dan had used this technique for years, but it was nearly impossible to recreate live.""I wanted this pedal to transform my guitar rig into the tonal equivalent of a Neve studio console, and that was no small task. After lots of trial and error, experimentation and re-works, this concept evolved into something far beyond what we had imagined.""In 2014, as we filmed the first demo videos at Abbey Road Studios in London, and this idea had evolved into the most unique product we had ever made. The Colour Box was a full-fledged studio-grade preamplifier, EQ, and distortion generator with multi-instrument compatibility. Get my Guitar found the latest prices on the JHS Pedals Emperor V2 Analog Chorus/Vibrato Effects Pedal.
There are two ways to look at the JHS Pedals Emperor Analog Chorus/Vibrato pedal. The Emperor V2 is a vintage-correct effect that absolutely nails the hard-to-find sound of the Arion SCH-1, but it's also a do-it-all modulation solution whether you want a subtle sheen, convincing rotary simulation, or seasick vibrato. It utilizes a Bucket Brigade 3207 chipset to deliver the warmth of '80s-style analog chorus pedals and the designers added enough onboard and outboard control to put you in command of every aspect of the Emperor’s voice. Whether spreading its warm tones or icy sheen to a pristine-sounding stereo rig, or utilizing an external expression pedal to cop realistic rotary speaker sounds on a blues gig, the Emperor can do it all. So Much ModulationThe designers call the Emperor an analog chorus/vibrato. That’s just because calling it a true analog chorus/pitch vibrato with tap tempo/waveform selection/rotary speaker simulation/true stereo output/and more pedal would have been a pain to write every time. Updated Tone Shaping CapabilitiesMaking a good thing better? Yes please. The Emperor V1 had a Tone control which has now become the EQ control in the Emperor V2. JHS replaced the passive tone control in the V1 with an active EQ control that functions as a Tilt. You'll now have much more tone shaping capability in the V2. The overall EQ control is much improved in the Emperor V2 and you will not lose any low-end sometimes commonly found with chorus/vibrato pedals. In-Depth Tempo ControlTo control the rate of the Emperor’s effect, simply turn the Speed knob up and down or tap the tap tempo footswitch. Or for the more adventurous among us...plug in an expression pedal for variable control in real time. And you can even slave the pedal to other tap-controlled pedals for rhythmic consistency across all your effects. A Few ExtrasWhen designing the Emperor, JHS conveniently and inconspicuously tucked in stereo output and the ability to select between buffered or true-bypass operation. Get my Guitar found the latest prices on the JHS Pedals Kilt V2 Overdrive Effects Pedal.
When the opportunity to work with Stu G came about (legendary guitarist, writer, producer and founding member of UK band Delirious), JHS Pedals engineers couldn’t pass it up. Right out of the gate, Stu G wanted a dirt box that could essentially cover any-and-all ground he needed for his studio work and extensive touring gigs. From that request the Kilt was born, and for the V2 JHS refined it to be a compact and versatile tone-machine. The Kilt V2 still has the fantastic circuit at the heart of the version one: a heavily tweaked Expandora-style dirt box that gives you more tonal options than you might ever be able to use. The designers use a specifically chosen op-amplifier that offers super low noise, improved slew rate for a smoother structure, and a character that just feels better than the original Expandora. Then there are three toggles that enhance the tweak-ability even further. The cut/flat toggle gives you the option to cut the low end frequencies to better sit in the mix. When in the “flat” position, the bass response is much beefier than the original Expandora for those heavy guitar riffs or bass grit. The G1 and G2 toggles let you select various forms of distortion via select resistance values that switch in and out in the clipping section of the circuit. This method is very different than your normal diode clipping selectors that you commonly see on drive pedals. This gives you multiple configurations and tonal options, helping the Kilt V2 cover light transparent drive all the way to a wall of fat fuzz/distortion and everything found in-between. When both toggles are down, you are in the lightest gain setting. Amp-like chimey breakup. G1 flipped up adds a touch of drive for more riffy grit. G2 flipped up puts you almost into distortion land, with more saturation and sustain for lead tones. Both toggles flipped up sends the Kilt V2 into almost uncontrollable gated fuzz/distortion that will cut through anything. For the V2 JHS added the ability to switch the G2 toggle with a Red Remote. This gives you the ability to flip into heavy overdrive or fuzz with a footswitch on the fly, making the V2 just as versatile as the V1 but more compact. | JHS Pedals Kilt V2 Overdrive Effects Pedal

Get my Guitar found the latest prices on the JHS Pedals Kodiak Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal.
"Part of JHS Pedals' tap tempo series, the Kodiak Tremolo effects pedal features all the bells and whistles you need to create the biggest tremolo growl. Based around classic VOX and Black Face tremolo sounds, the Kodiak brings vintage tremolo into the modern era with four different wave patterns, onboard tap tempo and sub-divisions to give you total control as well as plenty of inspiration to bring your sound out of hibernation. Let’s take a look at all the features this brown beast bears. The Kodiak has five simple controls: Volume, Speed, Mix, Ratio and Wave. The Volume control enables you to set the overall volume however you like it—either dialed back, at unity or boosted. The Speed knob is a manual control for the speed of the tremolo, which you can also set with the onboard tap tempo switch. The Mix knob controls how deep the tremolo is perceived, from fully clean to fully wet. A great feature of the Kodiak is that you can turn the Mix knob all the way down and use the Volume to boost your amp or other pedals, acting as a preamp or slightly driven boost. The Ratio control gives you the ability to dial in faster speeds that are perfectly synced with the BPM of your tap. You can choose from quarter notes, eighth notes, ""triplets"" or sixteenth notes. The Wave control gives you four different wave variations to choose from: Sine, Rhythmic, Square and Ramp. The Sine wave is a classic amp-like tremolo sound, the Rhythmic wave gives you an interesting rhythmic pattern that can be used in many different time signatures for a different effect, the Square wave gives you a more choppy trem sound, and the Ramp wave gives you a warbly type of sound. With all these options, sit down, grab a jar of honey and spend lots of time with your new bear friend to really get to know what it has to offer. The Kodiak tremolo guitar effects pedal also features a Tap/Expression jack on the right side of the pedal. Plug in an external tap tempo or an expression pedal to control the speed of the tremolo. Select either TAP or EXP via the switch on the left side of the Kodiak. At only 1” x 3”, you’ll save so much space on your pedal board that you’ll be able to add to your wardrobe of effects with ease. And with the ability to blend in compression and clean signal, you’ll be able to dial in the perfect sound that keeps everything in place. The Whitey Tighty is a FET compressor that has three simple controls: Volume, Compression, and Blend. The Volume control gives you the ability to set your volume at unity gain or slightly boosted to make up for any perceived loss from the compression. The Compression knob controls the amount of compression for everything from a subtle smoothing of your tone to a pleasing squash that’s perfect for country, blues, pop, and rock. Use the Blend knob to dial in the right amount of clean tone along with your compressed signal. This allows you to retain some of the natural feel of your clean tone while giving you the studio-quality compression that brings your sound to the next level. In 1966, a salesman named Ivor Arbiter saw the rising British rock scene demanding the effect of fuzz. He decided that his company Arbiter Electronics needed to join the other London guitar product companies and release his own take on this trending sound. After seeing the circular base of a mic stand, he came up with the idea to put the effect in a similar round enclosure and give it a face: two eyes made of knobs, a foot switch nose, and a brand label mouth.

In the late 1960's, Japan was bursting at the seams with amazing guitar pedal companies and innovations. One of the most sought after effects from this time and place is the Univox Super-Fuzz. This effect is an octave fuzz that turns any note or chord into a thick and searing texture. Playing a high octave up alongside the distorted note, this is an effect that demands your attention. First produced inside of a large amp head sized multi-effect unit called the Honey Psychedelic Machine (1967) and then re-released a few months later as a standalone pedal called the Honey Baby Crying Effect.

They wanted something that didn't exist in the then mainstream throes of MXR, DOD and even BOSS's product line; they wanted a pedal that could go from overdrive to distortion and then all the way to fuzz. The Berkeley 1973 Fresh Fuzz Replica pedal from JHS is a recreation of the classic stompbox launched in 1973 by Seamoon Inc. Initially, a fragile plastic enclosure design caused these Bakelite pedals to shatter when guitarists stomped on them, so Seamoon began recasing them in metal enclosures within a few months.

Fifty-four years later, JHS is releasing their spin on the Kay Fuzz Tone: the Mary-K. Knobs and an expression pedal output were also added for those who want to use it as it was originally intended. | JHS Pedals Mary-K 1969 Kay Fuzz Tone Replica Effects Pedal Black

The JHS Pedals PackRat distortion stompbox brings you a palette of nine distinct distortion tones, all derived from analog circuitry for fluid, organic grit and growl. Based on the revered ProCo Rat distortion that's been a staple on pedalboards since the late 1970s, the PackRat distortion pedal gives you a wide range of gain levels and tones to suit any genre or playing style. Dial In Vintage to Modern Distortion With Nine ModesThe PackRat distortion effects pedal equips guitarists with an arsenal of distortion tones, from subtle crunch to heavy saturation. Access nine different distortion modes, each with its own EQ voicing and gain structure, putting a spectrum of distortion flavors at your feet. Ranging from a mild overdrive to a thick, stinging fuzz, the PackRat's modes give you tones ideal for blues, rock, metal, punk, garage rock and more. Whether you need light breakup, singing leads, chugging rhythm or searing solos, one of the PackRat's nine modes will get you there. All-Analog Circuitry Captures Organic ToneWithin the PackRat distortion pedal lies 100 percent analog circuitry, giving your tone a fluid, dynamic feel. Analog distortion interacts with your guitar's pickups for a warm, organic grit that compresses and sustains naturally. The PackRat captures the mojo of classic distortion boxes like the ProCo Rat, which used analog parts to create their distinctive sound. From smooth clipping to rich harmonics, the PackRat's analog design imparts distortion with vintage vibe and true amp-like responsiveness. Modeled After the Legendary ProCo Rat DistortionThe PackRat takes inspiration from the highly regarded ProCo Rat distortion pedal first introduced in 1978. Loved by countless iconic guitarists, the vintage Rat had a smooth, creamy distortion with plenty of sustain. The PackRat aims to expand on that tonal legacy with a wider range of distortion flavors. Its modes all use analog parts and design cues from the Rat, imparting that same touch-sensitive dynamic response. For guitarists who dig the Rat's signature sound, the PackRat provides more tonal variety while retaining the organic analog tone. True Bypass Preserves Your Natural ToneThe PackRat features a true bypass switching design that routes your signal around the distortion circuitry when disengaged. That means your guitar's unadulterated tone passes directly to your amp, unaffected by any electronic components in the signal chain. True bypass preserves your natural tone and dynamics when the PackRat is off, ensuring zero loss of high end or signal integrity. Stomp it on and the PackRat feeds your amp with organic, responsive analog distortion. "The Plug-in 1967 Boss Tone Replica pedal from JHS is a reimagining of the Boss Tone, the first commercially successful U.S.-based plug-in effect, which debuted at the 1966 NAMM show. At the time, fuzz was still a new frontier for most guitarists, but nothing else on the market looked or sounded quite like the Boss Tone. The original unit is a small 1-3/4"" by 2-1/4"" molded plastic box that plugs directly into the guitar’s output jack. Unfortunately, plug-in effects never quite captured the practicality of a good old-fashioned stompbox, so this floor-based pedal features the same unique tone. | JHS Pedals Plug-in 1967 Boss Tone Replica Effects Pedal Black"
